Draws near to a close
All the children are tucked in
For their eight hour doze
It is then that the magic
Begins to unfold
Gifts come out of hiding
Wrapped in silver and gold
The eggnog gets liquored
For that last minute nightcap
A bite of some cookies
Proves where Santa was at
And it's off to bed
For the Mr and Mrs
As the clock striking midnight
Sounds the coming of Christmas
